Compensation: $17.00 - $21.00 an hour Newscast Director Syracuse, NY, United States WSTM/WSTQ/WTVH is looking for a Director for our Newscast. An exciting opportunity awaits for motivated candidates wanting to join the CNY Central team! We are looking to add a Newscast Director to participate in the production of our newscasts. The ideal candidate would have broadcast production experience and the ability to direct newscasts using Ross Overdrive automation systems. This position includes directing, code assisting, teleprompter operation, and studio preparation and maintenance. Primary
Responsibilities: Direct any assigned newscast using Ross Overdrive production automation systems. Provide code assist duties for assigned newscasts using iNews with Ross Overdrive Plugin. Maintain production studio and control room environments, including equipment checks, cable management, and orderly operations. Operate teleprompter for assigned newscasts. Perform any other production duties as assigned.
Requirements: Experience directing newscasts using Ross Overdrive Knowledge of production standards and equipment Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure Typing and good spelling skills necessary Ability to read and write, college degree preferred Flexible Schedule (Able to work any shift including weekends and early mornings) Strong work ethic Ability to work effectively with other production team members The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.00 - $21.00 an hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
